Featuring:
VISUAL:
Joseph Slusky, a Professor at UC Berkeley, will be showing
a few sculptural pieces.
Chip Sullivan, author of several landscape architecture textbooks, also
a UC Berkeley Professor and architect, will be displaying a few drawings.
Antjaun, a local painter who has been hanging his beautiful
works on walls across the country for 10+ years.
Andrew
Chapman a master craftsman/brilliant (mostly abstract constructionist)
painter.
Telefecteau,
bringing this past years series " tangible calm" hauntingly
beautiful ethereal pieces, Carolyn Chitty dropped her brush for many
years, but picked it up again and found it had forgiven her.
Kelly Porter paints live. I know this because I've
seen it. You may know this because of an article about him in the S.F.
Chronicle some months back. His
work is not something to miss, I assure you.
Mio
will be bringing robots that eat light bulbs and/or some video for
projection.
AUDIO:
Petracovich's haunting bedroom folktronica, beautiful,
sweet, delicate though solid.
“Petracovich’s music is a perfect balance between rhythmic
beats, atmospheric
backdrops, striking images and angelic vocals. The sound, which has
caught the
ear of influential radio programmers, is simultaneously worldly and
unworldly.”

Lisa
Mezzacappa's MODEL BAND
(John Finkbeiner, guitar; Aaron Bennett, saxes; Jason Levis, drums;
Lisa Mezzacappa, doublebass) plays swirling textural pieces, gnarly
improvisations and ambient anti-grooves.
The
Gowns: Live analogue analogue synth with samples and distorted
female
vocalist. Says CMJ: "shuddery feedback rambles that have an uneasy
sexiness and a
sexy uneasiness: whispery folk tunes slowly drooling down the open guts
of a circuit
box, the wind cooing in the foreground, a guitar being gently strangled.
All the shamble of Charlambides, but it's scary as the Bros. Grimm and
it rocks, too."
DJ
Enso: It's all he can do to scream I love you to an empty room,
I love you to the image of his lying corpse, still, I love you to the
past and the future, all the while clutching the guard rail with white
knuckles. This shit is like a motown song peacefully dropping acid on
it's deathbed. Underwater.
The
Vultures' black noir ukulele and strings trio, super fun guys.
These tunes call for jugs and spoons.
